The Spectravox is an innovative Moog analog spectral processor that allows you to create drones and rich, “colorful” sound sweeps. It adds depth and psychedelic movements to all external sound. By plugging in a microphone, it becomes a 10-band analog vocoder with integrated modulation.
Unlike previous fixed filters, those on the Spectravox can move together in frequency space, creating unique spectral animations and phaser-like sweeps. With 10 variable resonance filters, it transforms your sounds into surprising new shapes.
The Spectravox is a fascinating synthesizer thanks to its Moog analog oscillator and its white noise generator. Its XLR/jack program input makes it a complete 10-band vocoder. In VOCODER mode, it maps the characteristics of any external sound to another sound. Shape the analog oscillator with the dynamics of your voice, or use a drum machine to liven up guitar chords.
Inspired by the work of Bob Moog and Wendy Carlos in the 1960s, the Spectravox innovates by using 10 variable filters controllable by an internal LFO or an external control voltage. It also allows you to highlight vowels thanks to its Hiss and Buzz function.
With patch points for each filter and included cables, you can create unexpected sonic textures. Add analog warmth and subtle phasing to digital instruments. Integrate the Spectravox with other Moog or Eurorack modules thanks to its large patch bay. It’s an instrument that invites you to explore new ways of shaping and sculpting sound.
The Spectravox is an upgraded version of the Moogfest Limited Edition. It can be used in two ways:
- Standalone synthesizer: thanks to the +12V DC power supply provided, you use it directly.
- Eurorack module: by simply removing the front panel, it integrates into any Eurorack system.
Thanks to its 36 patch points, it unlocks deeper and more varied sonic possibilities. It is a versatile instrument that can function as:
- Synthesizer voice
- CV filter bank
- Vocoder
Easily integrate the Spectravox with other Moog semi-modular instruments or Eurorack modules with its large 3.5mm patch bay providing control over essential parameters.
